The barn caught fire in the middle of the night,
the flames, high enough to top the tree lines,

you could see that warm orange glow for miles,
it's rafters wrapped in yellow arms, engulfed;

Their noses perked at whiffs of burning wood,
they might recall a memory of an autumn night,
the cool darkness full of its smokey evidence
of some hidden warmth nestled to the hearth

of souls that gather 'round; Burning with awe.

The barn ignited in the drought of a dead summer
as markets were closing along the dusty road
to some other land, that was full, that was fresh,
by long strides of a whispering sun, sipping doom,

etching itself out along the course of all our hope,
where this land once provided to us, existence,
betrayed in those autumn nights, sheparding ill,
and the echoes of much deliberation and screams;

the barn was now a vibrant crimson red, lashing
its forked tongue tendrils across the forever sky.

Freaks Come Out At Night, Superfreak all my experience up till now led me to believe no girl aspired to be a freak, but this song set me straight. Some chicks wanna be freaky and smoke that crack. The Lions hit us off with the latest soundtrack to the western zombie apocalypse.

The players on this one are Chris, who held down the Roland DR-660 Drum Machine, a vintage Casiotone and a PC laptop running a Mackie mixing console. T. did that thing he does with two Technics 1210 turntables running through his customized Ecler HAK mixer, An awesome bent Casio SK-1 and a Macbook Pro, Drew did the major work with a seventies era Casiotone, Kevin brought in multitracking of his classic Roland JP 8000 synthesizer, Gregg held down the spot as our spiritual advisor, frontman and bass technician. All production, engineering, recording and mixing by Chris 'skeezix' Trudeau. Written and Recorded Digitally in The Westy Puppy Garage.

A cross country tape trading process led old friends Trestles (Justin Bahniuk, Michael Gates and Steven Phillips) and The Lions (of judah) (t.mrsn, Andrew Trudeau, Chris Trudeau, Gregg and Kevin Jones) into this - the latest collaboration between the two super collectives -Bah Bah Black Speed You Duck Emperor- Tracks were traded and bounced back and forth rather quickly and with ease, each side tweaking the others progress. Curse Industries is gearing up. We're working hard and soon hope to share some of the fruits of our labor.

T.Diggy has been a busy bee. He's spent the past few months designing our entire line of apparel, with over a HUNDRED designs and graphics to choose from. Now we are in the process of deciding which of the shirts we will be producing in very limited runs. And let me tell you, from what I've seen, it's going to be very difficult slimming down the choices. If we had the money we'd print every single design. They're that RAD! Everything you'd expect from our faithful cartoonist and designer genius. The sooner we find financing and add that to the pennies we are scraping together - the sooner you'll see the glory of our crazy brains manifested!

For now we hope you'll stay tuned in and come back from time to time to check out updates, information, and articles on all our favorite local artist friends. We'll also be updating the blog with comics, music videos and some of the latest tracks we're kicking out with The Lions (of judah), our awesomely dope experimental music project.

Robert Beams' Super Robot Destroys!

Robert Beam (The International Meet, ucer, ex-virus 23) is an artist and great friend who resides in Bridgeport.

I first met Beam at a Halloween party held by Stacy Valentine (Norwalks' Original Goth), I found out Beam had went to alot of the same shows I had gone to at The Anthrax and also, that he worked at a comic book store, We were brothers from that night. He worked at a comic book store all right but not at Galaxy Comics! The store where my allegiances lay - partly out of force of habit, But mostly because Galaxy Comics was little, dirty, dark, the guy who owned it was a BIG imposing gruff guy named Fred, who just couldn't be bothered unless you had a file, (I most certainly had a file), But the worst part was his wife. She was always there and usually screaming in the back of the shop from behind the banners and posters (Cerebus, Elfquest that type of shit), She scared me when she would come tromping out, I was a shy skinny lanky boy. Long story short - My new main man Beam worked at Flamingo Street or Dream Factory, and they are the quintessential new school shop with bright lights, everything clean, they are hosting role playing games, they are totally superhero-centric, (I maintained my file at Galaxy until it closed, then got one at Dream Factory, ugh Dream Factory -note sarcasm here- that's a really cool name.) I think it was even a goddamn chain store, if I remember correctly. But the topper was this kid who worked there who played that he was a vampire 24/7, presumably because he was really into 'The Crow'. That was some weird ass corny shit to do back then, kinda now, too.).But, after I met Beam I would go there every week to show him my sketchbook and look at his. In true Entourage style Beam would move next to Los Angeles with childhood friend Charlie Heath, star of the film Leprechaun 2, When he returned back east years later he lived with me for awhile up on Flax Hill Road and we would just draw together at night all the time, finishing each others drawings and collaborating on music, (additionally we would be skipping stones and singing Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows) it was a great time, But like all great times it eventually ended when we were asked to vacate the premises. Beam moved on to Black Rock and he seems to really love it and love to hate it,

As an artist he has worked with the likes of Matthew Shipp, The David S. Ware Quartet, Mike Ladd, Meat Beat Manifesto and so many more. You can see/hear alot of what he does both here and here. He has recently begun a fantastic animation which he is kindly (cause I am like a friend of his and stuff) letting us see the first glimpses of.

The Lions, Stamford CT, performing as a three piece recorded live, digitally in the Westy Garage. During the annual Halloween party at the Westy Garage the present members of The Lions offered guests a set as a power trio. The Lions involved are Drew Trudeau playing a Gibson SG electric guitar, Kevin Jones playing a Roland JP8000 syntheizer and T. who produced this track is handling drums, two technics 1210s thru a Ecler HAK mixer and vocals. Party Attendees also added percussion. Everyone was glad that all neighbors involved were in attendance.

Someone told me there is a fairly popular network television show with the same name as this song, while the title does reflect football, I didn't know of the show at the time and have still never seen it, unless its that gambling one with Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino? in Northern Stamford, CT

Opting to go against the norm for playing at a party, The Lions set up the recording gear and the high powered massively overloaded and dangerous multi-piece sound system. They mingled about for a few and then they offered guests this six minute sad electro lament at a huge volume. The partygoers seemed both unfazed and uncaring.

The personnel on this track are as follows Chris Trudeau (sicboy, The Stick) both produced this recording and plays a casiotone piano, Drew Trudeau (sicboy, The Stick) plays a Gibson SG guitar along with a casiotone piano, Kevin Jones (sicboy) soars while playing a vintage Roland JP8000 Synthesizer, Gregg provides low end with an Electric Bass Guitar, T.(sicboy, dharmata,the international meet, Dj Tanner) plays a macbook pro, A Boss DR660 Drum machine with twoTechnics 1210s through an Ecler HAK mixer. Spanish Flea by Sid Bass, I call this song the theme to 'The Dating Game' and it is of course super hot, I have a real love for gameshow music and this is of that wonderful genre.

Polk Salad Annie by Gil Trythall (again) is like some atari shit you never heard before.

Moogie Boogie by The Zeet Band (great name) sounds like chase music from Miami Vice, i can't seeing wanting to hear the whole song again, but i would drop a few seconds of it at a party just to release the flavor.

Porcupine Pie by Hugo Montenegro is a weird 8-bit atari seventies porno soundtrack, it's like a cheesy hot jazz combo playing with a shit hot moog player who has the most awesome like 8-bit atari tones and sounds and its this totally stereotypical porno movie sounding jam, five stars

Whats New Pussycat by Wendy (Walter) Carlos, its a carnival jam cover version that is really Wendy Carlos, Its like an outtake from A Clockwork Orange that didn't make it into the film. I am not much for carnival music but I do like the super freakout at the end, Scary.
